Privacy Policy

Last updated · 2026-09-04

Kawkaba is a habit tracker you share with other people, which makes it obvious that some of what you record is seen by others and some of it must never be. This policy sets out exactly which is which, what we store, and how to get rid of all of it.

What we collect

Account details. Your name, email address and — if you set one — a profile picture. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and avatar from Google; we never receive your Google password.

Settings. Your language, theme, timezone and reminder times, so reminders arrive at the right hour wherever you are.

Device tokens. If you turn on push notifications, the token your device's push service issues, so a reminder can reach it.

Usage analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics about how the app is used.

Habits

Public: Everyone can see the habit's details (title and description).

Private: No one - not even admins - can see your habit's details (title and description).

What is shared with other members, and what is not

Members of a habit you belong to can see your name, your profile picture, and whether you completed each day of that habit, along with your streak and score in it.

Your notes are never shared. They are encrypted at rest and shown only to you. No other member, in any role, can read them.

Nothing about a habit is public unless you make it so. A private habit is visible only to the people who joined it through its invite link.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We do not read your notes. They are encrypted before they are stored.

We do not use what you record to train anything.

Where it is stored

Your data is held in our database, and a copy of your own habits and entries is also stored on your device so the app works offline. Signing out or deleting the app removes that copy from the device.

Notifications

Reminders are delivered either as local notifications scheduled on your device or as push notifications. A notification's content never exposes private data like your notes.

You can turn notifications off entirely from the app's settings, and revoke them at the operating system level at any time.

Exporting your data

You can export everything you have recorded from Settings, at any time and as often as you like — your habits, your entries and your notes, in a file you keep.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. This removes your profile, your memberships and the entries attached to them.

Habits you created that other people are still using are transferred rather than destroyed, so deleting your account does not delete other members' records.

Export your data first if you want to keep a copy — deleting is not reversible.

Children

Kawkaba is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date above changes with it and the app tells you the next time you open it.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request about your data, can be sent through any of the accounts linked at the bottom of this page.
